Naturism is a way of life in harmony with nature characterised by
the practice of communal nudity, with the intention of encouraging
self-respect, respect for others and for the environment.
(international Congress - Agde 1974)
Beyond this definition, a great deal of sites evoke naturism,
its cogency, its origins, its hygiene... Many of them answer the usual
questions asked by the people ready to try the naturist adventure.
For a naturist, the fact of being naked calls for no particular remark.
Just a many people today undress to wear only a swim-suit on a beach,
naturists remain simply naked. If you are textile (that
means an adherent to the swim-suit in naturists slang) just imagine that
you speak to a person who imperatively wants to remain fully dressed on a
beach(as we used to see it some ten years ago) : How to explain to this
person that you only wear a swim-suit on the beach, and that this doesn't
set any problems as everyone is dressed in the same way!
It is not easy for a naturist to present naturism to a person who
doesn't practise it.
Obviously naturists perceive the fact of being naked among other
people also naked as a non-event.
But it is not the opinion of everyone, and this is why the ANP must be
ensured of the identity of the people present at its activities to
guarantee its respectability with respect to the administrative
authorities.
In spite of the mistrust of the administration concerning naturism, the
City of Paris organizes display campaigns in favour of our Association of
the Naturists of Paris, once or twice a year.
Our association is affiliated with the french federations of naturism
and Swimming, approved by the Ministry for Youth and Sports : naturism is
perhaps more ordinary than many people think...
(In short, why not to test!)
